Tekkie Vellie is build with Premium leather and lasted on leather to give a unique comfortable fit and feel.

The truly South African upper design is aligned to the Traditional Vellie look, then fitted onto a Sheet EVA Midsole and Rubber Outersole to finish off the “Tekkie Vellie” Look.

To increase comfort and flexibility we added in visible flex grooves in the forefoot taking the look back to the 80’s when all Performance Running shoes a.k.a Tekkies were built with this profile.

Keeping in mind the bespoke nature of the shoes and the use of leather that there might be slight variations in colour and some small texture differences in the leather…some call it imperfections, we call it being unique and special!

Like all shoes from the 80’s the shoes comfort level increased over time as the midsole wore in, the Density of the EVA was chosen like this to increase the lifespan of the shoes.

The profile of the EVA was designed in line with current running shoe sole shapes with a tapered forefoot and heel giving a rocker feel to the shoe and promoting smooth and comfortable walking.

For the tech orientated consumer out there, the heel drop of midsole is 10mm and approx. 8-18 stack. Some variation might occur due to the unique bespoke production method.

The Rubber outersole has a low-profile studded look for increase durability and grip.

When ordering your pair of Tekkie Vellies, keep in mind that its build with generous sizing in mind, South Africans have unique foot shape and sizes so we tried to cater for a wide variety of potential users.

Some people will choose to go 1 size down from their normal casual shoes, unless you prefer to have some extra toe wiggle room…it’s up to you how you wear your Tekkie Vellies. ????
